Haiti Deaf Academy

Bercy, Haiti

Built on the campus of Lifelong for Orphans in Bercy, Haiti, the Haiti Deaf Academy is now serving deaf students! The new campus is comprised of 4 student houses with washhouses, a manager’s house, a pavilion for gathering and associated site works. The project is sustainably designed. Units are oriented on the site to maximize sun protection to the windows while providing an excellent location for solar panels. Rain water is also collected, filtered and used as potable water. Interior spaces are bright and airy with high ceilings and natural ventilation.
